Day 11 - September 20, 2017 - Rest Day

We stayed in Tempe, AZ today.  Many errands by all in the group.  I got up early, showered, and went across the street to Denny's for breakfast.  The walk was painful, as I now have blisters on the balls of my feet from walking around last night in just my sandals.  Hard to walk!

Went to REI with five others - a friend of Ken's from a previous tour drove us.  I had to replace the water bladder that I lost pan the road last week.  Purcased other odds and ends - straps, small caribiner clips, sunscreen...  most importantly, I replaced an aol developer headband with a sweat gutter, which goes on my head like a sweatband, but instead f absorbing the sweat, it channels it off may head, and keeps it out of my eyes.   Sweat in the eyes on a bike ride is not pleasant - it stings!

After REI, Neal and I had to shop for breakfast and lunch for tomorrow.  After its were put away and iced, air took my bike to a local shop, and dropped into off for as change of handlebar tapes and chain cleaning.  Then took Uber to Phoenix to meet a friend from a high school. Unfortunately, she could not get away from work, so back to Tempe I went, this time via light rail.  Picked up my bike, and oh how clean it was!  Rode back to the hotel, and arrange for six of us to go to dinner at a nearby sports bar.

All in all, a very busy "rest" day!  No photos.
